Who this is for

You've outgrown doing growth yourself

The firm got here on your relationships and your reputation, and that took years to build. But growth is still a second job for people whose first job is delivery, so the business grows as far as your calendar goes and no further. We take the growth seat inside the business, and we've done it with more than 150 agencies.

What we actually do

We take the growth seat inside your business. It looks one of two ways.

We lead and your team produces

Some firms already have people who can write, publish and follow up, and what they're short on is direction. We set growth strategy, pricing, go to market and marketing direction, working it out alongside your sales and delivery leads. Weekly with you, plus proper time with the team.

We run the marketing function

Other firms don't have that team, and ours does the work instead. Writing, podcast, social, email and outreach all run on our own production team, and that's included in what you pay. Ad spend and software are yours.

We start with the people you already have

Before anything changes we sit down with your team and whoever is running sales and marketing today. We want to know what's already working before we touch any of it. If one of them turns out to be the problem, you hear it from us first and privately.

How it starts

We open with a read of how the firm wins work today, and it ends in a plan with a name against every line. From there the result is ours to carry, week to week, next to the people already doing the work.

How this is different from a hire or an outside agency

A hire or an outside agency
  • A full-time hire, strong in one or two areas
  • Recruiting, onboarding and management land on you
  • Vendors produce assets that never reach the pipeline
  • The strategy stays outside the business
Fractional Partner
  • Direction from the first week
  • Works through the people you already have
  • One owner for the outcome
  • Weekly with the founder, plus time with the team

What Clients Say

I came to Kurt through a referral and he's guided me for close to a year. The experience has been incredibly positive. He's helped us boost client engagement, streamline processes, fine-tune project management, track work better in our CRM, and put tighter terms in place to prevent scope creep. He gets into the details that often get overlooked, and he works with both me and our Project Manager on execution. His focused guidance on AI and automation has been transformational to how I think about workflows, clients, and opportunities. If you're considering Kurt, come ready to accept new ideas and change. You'll have a great partner, even when you stumble.

Common questions

Fractional Partner is growth and marketing leadership held from inside a founder-led agency, professional services firm or consulting firm. SCG takes the seat that owns growth: strategy, pricing, go to market and marketing direction, working weekly with you and alongside your team. It takes one of two shapes, and which one you're in comes down to what your team can already produce.

No. What you pay depends on which shape you're in and how much we're taking on, so you'll get the price on the intro call.

No. Fractional Partner is the largest thing we do, so there is nowhere to move you up to.

It comes down to what your team can already produce. If you have people who can write, publish and follow up, we lead and they produce. Without that team in place, we run it with ours. Either way we'll tell you which one we think you're in on the first call.

Where we run the marketing function, production is included: writing, podcast, social, email and outreach. Ad spend and software stay on your side of the line.

You keep them. We sit down with your team and whoever is running sales and marketing today before anything changes, and we work through the people you already have. If one of them turns out to be the problem, you hear it from us first and privately.

Three months to start, then month to month with 30 days notice. The first three months are there because that's how long it takes before any of this reaches the pipeline.

The same senior person runs it from the first conversation through the work itself, weekly with you and with your team in between. Where we're running the marketing function, SCG's own production team handles the writing, podcast, social, email and outreach underneath that. Whoever you talk to on the intro call is who you work with.

Other ways to work with SCG

Start with an intro call.

Bring the work that has no owner today. We'll talk it through and you'll know by the end which shape fits and what it costs.
