Who this is for

You've built a firm that works

The clients stay, the work is good, and most weeks it runs without you in the middle of it. Pricing, hiring and the client list still run through you, and the people who work for you can't take any of it off your plate. That's what we help with, and we've done it with more than 150 agencies.

What we actually do

We talk twice a month, and in between you can just ask.

We talk twice a month

Sixty minutes on video, and you set the agenda. Some months that's one deal you've been circling for weeks. Other months it's a hire, a client winding down, and where to take the firm next. You bring what's actually in front of you and we work it.

In between, you can just ask

Things rarely wait for the next call on the calendar. Send the question when it comes up and you'll have an answer back the next business day, which is usually all it takes to keep a deal from sitting around for two weeks.

You leave knowing what you're doing

Every session ends with what you're going to do and the reasoning underneath it, so when someone on your team asks why, you've got an answer that holds up. There's no deck at the end of this, and there doesn't need to be.

How it starts

It starts with what's in front of you right now: the deal, the hire, the client. There's no onboarding questionnaire and no discovery phase to sit through first, because the quickest way for us to understand your business is to work something live inside it.

How this is different from a course or a group

Courses and group programs
  • A set curriculum on someone else's schedule
  • Answers written for the average member
  • Accountability from a peer group
  • Progress waits for the next module
Mentorship
  • An agenda set by the founder
  • Answers built on your numbers and your market
  • An answer you can act on at the end of every session
  • An answer within one business day

What has come out of these sessions

A two-founder studio, twice a month: the list of accounts they wanted, built in those sessions, got them a meeting with Google.

What Clients Say

When I first booked a session with Kurt, I was completely lost on how to build a sales strategy for my business and how to navigate entrepreneurship as a first-time founder. But Kurt broke everything down into clear, actionable steps that completely shifted my approach. I ended up doing multiple sessions with him, and the experience was truly transformative. His guidance has had a massive impact on how I'm building my business. If you're looking for real, practical advice, I highly recommend him.

Common questions

Mentorship is twice-monthly counsel for the owner of a founder-led agency, professional services firm or consulting firm. You get two 60-minute video sessions a month with the agenda set by you, plus an answer within one business day to anything you send in between. We work on pricing, hiring, clients and where to take the firm, and you carry out the work yourself.

We don't, and it's not a dodge. What you pay depends on what's going on in the business, so you'll get a straight number on the intro call.

No. Mentorship is scoped on its own and we're happy to leave it there for as long as it's useful to you.

You bring what's in front of you. A deal you're pricing, a hire you're unsure about, a client winding down, the positioning question you keep coming back to. We talk it through and you leave knowing what you're going to do.

You do. Mentorship is counsel on pricing, hiring, clients and where to take the firm. If you want the plan written and someone asking you how the week went, that's Advisory. If you want us to own the outcome inside the business, that's Fractional Partner.

Month to month, and you can end it with 30 days notice.

Founder-led agencies, professional services firms and consulting firms. Usually the owner, and sometimes the owner and one partner together.

Yes, and plenty of founders bring one. Mentorship is usually the owner on their own, and sometimes the owner and one partner together, which works well when you both sign off on the same things. More than two and the session turns into a meeting, so we'd talk about Advisory instead.

Other ways to work with SCG

Start with an intro call.

Bring what's on your desk this week. We'll talk it through and you'll know by the end whether this is the right fit and what it costs.
